Lydbrook Bridge Closure

O Kerne Bridge i Symonds Yat
Lydbrook Bridge is closed for safety repairs. Alternate route (shown on map) stays on west bank of the Wye, through Symonds Yat West to the pedestrian bridge at Biblins (on Symonds Yat to Monmouth stage) to rejoin the official route. If you are overnighting in Symonds Yat East, after crossing Biblins Bridge head upstream for 1 mile to reach accommodation.

Llanstephan Bridge Closure

Whilst Llanstephan Bridge is closed for safety repairs, continue on the minor road on the east side of the river between Llanstephan and Boughrood (C1333 ) until reaching the B4350 in Boughrood, where you turn left to rejoin the official route.

Landslide Piercefield Woods

There has been a landslide on the Wye Valley Walk following very heavy rainfall. The landslide is in the Piercefield Woods section at The Alcove, close to Chepstow. Diversion signs show the signposted alternate path. A fallen tree is due to be removed asap.‍

Hardwicke Brook Bridge Reopens

Hay-on-Wye to Bredwardine
Good news as we go into Autumn and Winter, the bridge over the Hardwicke Brook (NE of Hay-on-Wye, SW of Priory Farm at Grid Ref SO 2479 4414) has been replaced and the Wye Valley Walk is now fully open. Thanks to Herefordshire Rights of Way team for their efforts to get this bridge installed.
